Poetry Therapy
Writing poetry is the language of the soul. You can begin writing poetry simply by trying the free online course Creative Intuition. Poetry can release your mind from its normal structure and free its expression. The aim in personal expressive poetry writing is not to write clever poetry but to roam, feel free and express anything that comes to your mind, almost like a form of mind dancing or mind music.
You have inside of yourself a free and creative voice that is uncensored and is not carefully planning what to say next. To find that fluidily of expression takes daily practice, like building a skill or muscle over time. Poetry brings in something new. It is a reaching to the edge of your own mind to express what is unique, free and flowing and uniquely you. On the edge of what you should say, is what you need to really say from the core of your being. Writing poetry is a way to listen to your true self's voice.
Writer Henry Miller found his own original voice after allowing himself to write from the edges of his mind, "Immediately I heard my own voice, I was enchanted: the fact that it was a separate, unique voice sustained me. It didn't matter to me if what I wrote should be considered bad. Good and bad dropped out of my vocabulary....My life became a work of art. I had found my voice. I was whole again."
